Breathitt AMD Council #586 was constituted and set to work on June 16th, 2023 by V.B. Kevin Sample, Grand Marshal AMD, USA. 

The five petitioners  who requested to form this council are:  George Turner of Morehead AMD #484, Anthony Holbrook of Highland AMD #548 with three Royal Arch Masons, Dylan Baker, Mike Bryant and Steve Bowling.

On August 28th, 2024, John C. Elkinton, Sovereign Grand Master, approved a bylaws change of Breathitt Council that permitted the council to move out of Breathitt Masonic Lodge. Since that time, the council has met at the Breathitt County Public Library's Annex Building.
